The milk was more expensive than at asda - about the same price as asda organic milk - the bread was terrible - someone had mentione organic carrots on another thread but I went in two seperate Aldi's today and there was nothing organic in any of them.

The satsumas were manky

Havent; tasted the beans yet...

Not impressed at all.

I find their packaged stuff better than their fresh fruit and veg and generally go there for jars and tins, cereal, and cheese. (and snacks)

I don't think Aldi has enough variety to do a complete shop but alongside other shops or a supermarket it's great. We're fortunate in that Aldi is right next door to another supermarket so I go to Aldi first then on to wherever else I need to go to top up - a bit time consuming but that doesn't bother me tbh if it means I can save a few quid.

bought (non organic) aubergines for 29p each in Lidl couple of weeks ago

I am really surprised! Maybe it depends on the store. Our Aldi has lovely fresh fruit and veg. I think that Lidl has better meat and general choice but Aldi is fine.

lidl fruit and veg far superior to aldi IMO, and they do organic stuff and some fairtrade
