Why is it that when I defrost chicken in the microwave it stinks?

Was fine when I froze it.

Reeks. DH will refuse to eat it...

I thought so long as it was cooked through properly and evenly, and not left to sit around, it's fine.

I often defrost chicken that way.

Noticed legs smell more than breasts though.

I defrost chicken in the microwave all the time, to no ill-effect. But it doesn't smell. Sounds like yours might have been on the turn when you froze it

Dunno but you are right it reeks to high heaven. The thought of it makes me gip - sorry......

I would rather go without than defrost meat in the microwave.

It did absolutely stink

Went in the bin. Even i wouldn't have eaten that.

Must have been going off when I put it in the freezer.
