I thought so long as it was cooked through properly and evenly, and not left to sit around, it's fine.

I often defrost chicken that way.

Noticed legs smell more than breasts though.

Seriosly dont defrost chicken in the microwave, you could end up really ill

MrsSprat · 03/07/2008 18:27

I defrost chicken in the microwave all the time, to no ill-effect. But it doesn't smell. Sounds like yours might have been on the turn when you froze it

Pinions · 03/07/2008 18:34

Dunno but you are right it reeks to high heaven. The thought of it makes me gip - sorry......

PeaMcLean · 03/07/2008 18:43

OK.

So, that's boiled potatoes and ratatouille for tea then.

Is it because it has started to cook the chicken?

I would rather go without than defrost meat in the microwave.

PeaMcLean · 03/07/2008 19:24

Actually...

even for me and my slack attitudes...

It did absolutely stink

Went in the bin. Even i wouldn't have eaten that.

Must have been going off when I put it in the freezer.
