How the feck do you get the orange flesh out of the orange halves without splitting them?

And how far in advance can I make them?

I would assume you need to cut them lengthwise too (incase you hadn't been doing that) - will be much easier to scrape

Haha, Flamseparrow I think that may be the key! It's just the recipe (Annabel Karmel I'm afraid) does say about the scraping but makes it sound akin to peeling a grape as far as difficulty is concerned and actually it isn't that simple. I'm already in pre-party panic mode and am not responding well to setbacks, especially of a culinary nature.
