Have I just completely buggered up my bread in the machine?

Decided to make bread in my Panasonic.

Put everything in and set it going - wanted rapid bake. Then realised I hadn't changed size - did ingredients for medium and size was XL so stopped it and tried to re-do settings. It wouldn't let me and is now on normal bake and still on XL.

Will it be crap?

It might be okay. Nothing to lose by letting it carry on. Maybe stopping and restarting will be the problem if it doesn't work, not the wrong size setting iyswim.

Will wait and see I suppose. More annoyed that I now have to wait 4 hours instead of 2!! thanks itati.

How did it turn out?

Buda · 03/07/2008 12:11

Took it out about half an hour ago - ended up going out so was about 10 mins late taking it out - it is not destined to be a good one really is it?

Haven't cut it yet - still hot.

DS hanging around hopefully though!

I don't think it makes any difference really .. it bakes for same length of time no matter what the size

Buda · 03/07/2008 12:26

Tis fine. Top of crust a bit soft but tastes fine.

It is all part of the experience of being a bread machine owner. Wait until you have forgotten to put the yeast in, the salt, the sugar, the water, the fat, the mixing blade or even the flour(?) and the interesting results you get - THEN my friend, you will truly be a bread maker.

In my defence, I am pg and obviously I have only ever forgotten one of the above items at a time

Buda · 03/07/2008 12:33

I am not PG and have buggered it up totally before so don't feel too bad!

Anyway - an chomping away on it with some nice cheddar!

Or, like my DH, put all the ingredients into the actual machine, not the bowl that goes inside it

TheProvincialLady · 03/07/2008 12:35

Oh did he really sagitta?

sagitta · 03/07/2008 12:39

Sadly, yes.

Actually, I don't know why I am I had to clean it!
