My cookies are soggy!

I've just tried to bake cookies for the first time and they're soggy (I've cooked them for longer than the recipe suggests but they're still soggy). Are they supposed to be like this? Will they harden up over night or should I be doing something to save them (or should I just eat the evidence). Any tips on making successful cookies very welcome.

They may well harden up. keep them somewhere airtight.

Hi
This recipe has never failed for me MrsFogi. I have substituted choc and nuts for coconut and cherries too. Perfect every time -

As opposed to cakes you have to be very specific about the recipe for biscuits. Did you make them particular big or heaped?

I've just had the same problem, cookies apear to be fully baked, but they were soggy,so much so that i ALMOST threw them in the bin....swore a little ,then read your comments from members here,so....popped them back in the oven 10 mins, then hey presto!! perfect.
thanks
