Everyone who's been following the MEAL PLANNER - over here for a second....

I received my copies of a couple of meal planners last week. Tweaked them a bit and then went shopping. I have never, in my life, been or felt, so bloody organised.

It's been a joy the last three days - no wondering about what to do for dinner etc.

How's everyone else finding it?

Any other top tips for meal planning?

Just a small point:- THESE ARE NOT MY MEAL PLANNERS! Well, the one that is now called Doodles meal planner and contains a fry up, a take away and several ready meals is mine but the other two were sent to me by another Mumsnetter, so not my good work.

thank you!!! I cook from scrtach most nights but seem to have a limited few 'old favourites' in terms of meals. This will broaden our horizons!!!

muppetgirl - I think that's what spurred me on with it - fresh ideas....but without trawlling through the cook books!

Getting the originals from Mumsnet kinda made me sit down for 10 minutes and think about planning and now I'm feeling more inclined to go in search of new ideas. I used to love cooking but it's become a right chore over the last couple of years. This has kinda kick started me again.

Doodle -agree with it becoming a chore. I love cooking but seem to be in a rut...

Starlight, I know....I want to find a way to centralise everyone's meal planners so we could all nick each others ideas....maybe a book idea, eh?!

Thanks for sending me the meal planners. What does it mean when it says 'type of day' - original/green and HE?

Also, are these planners supposed to be aimed at people wanting to lose weight or are they healthy, balanced meals for families?

Shitemum - one of them is based on Slimming World (red & green days). One is based on what my family like to eat vrs quick meals for when we have clubs, Beavers etc to rush to. The third one is based on another Mumsnetter's family meals but with no specific focus.

It's just a means of clarifying your weekly shopping, not buying stuff that'll get binned & being/feeling in control & organised - making life easier!

Oh I like this, I have had a big twiddle with mine and got the monthly eve meals to £132 for the 4 weeks. If I then add in cereal and flour for bread at lunch time and fruit then that will be the whole month - milk delivered.

The least times I visit the supermarket the less I spend!!
