Disney fruit - has the world gone mad?

Is it just me or is the human race's sanity now hanging by a thread? Disney bananas and satsumas, FFS?! I can understand some parents buying Disney branded food if it's recognisable as such - tinned pasta in the shape of Princesses etc. [non-judgemental shudder] but what on Earth is the point of something which will look exactly the same as something else once it's out of the packet? A child isn't going to know one banana from another! I'm completely baffled about this....

Perhaps they import them directly. It's a small world after all

LOL, Magnificent7! [tries to think of another Disney pun]

Ermmm I never get branded stuff like that but had to buy some Disney bananas( I know I felt awful even picking them up) as all the others were green and huge.

Anyway ds is Disney mad thanks to a free dvd we got given from grandma out of a newspaper . Well you'd have thought I'd have bought him the world,he was sooo excited. His sister who isn't a banana fan insisted on having one before we'd even got to the car. I'd also bought apples which she loves !!!!!!

Now if you're a mum who gives into pester power (I'm not), is loaded (I'm not)or have kids who don't eat fruit I reckon you'd fall for it hook line and sinker. Hideous I know but it's obviously a money spinner that works.

Are they organic? Fair trade?

Twinkie1 · 30/06/2008 14:58

They grow them in the magic kingdom - what do you think those apes from The Jungle Book do each and everyday - they are disney for a reason you know!

I don't buy them though more on account of the fact that they are sooooo expensive!

I totally agree with the op. Why? it's not just the fruit they've done it too either. having said that, my dc's haven't come across disney. yet.

Plus I get all my fruit from the monday market as it's cheaper.

Don't pander to it. Stick to the bare necessities. The simple bare necessities. Forget about the worry and the strife.

Total con imo. However, I imagine if you had a fussy eater who bought into it then they could be a godsend as a way of getting some kind of fruit into child.
