Has anyone successfully frozen bananas

Took advantage of the Asda 50p a kilo offer as I go through lots of them but now I'm a bit dubious how they'll come out again.

Read a few different options on web from freezing in their skins in a freezer bag to mushing up with a wee drop lemon juice in little portions which is ideal as I use a lot for DD2 (7 mths) in puddings.

Has anyone used either method & found they defrosted well?

TIA

I thought you had to peel them before you froze them, but haven't tried it myself.
