Baking or cooking :Which do you prefer and why?

i LOVE baking when i get the chance

i cook everyday and it can sometimes feel fairly humdrum, altho' i generally enjoy it

hate baking, am bad at it.. cakes and buns never rise...also, burnt myself badly once making bread and had to go to A&E, so that put me off.

love cooking when i have time to do it properly. like ruby, i hate the cleaning up!

love making lots of soups and chillis and restocking freezer

Baking, as I have a sweet tooth and grew up with shop-bought cakes, biscuits, etc!

I love baking, cooking not so much. Last night I mad cakes for the school fete today and an apple, blueberry almond cake (OMG so delish) when I got in from work. DH shakes his head and can't work out why I don't flake out in front of the tv after work but baking relaxes me. Eating cake is also good!

I can always summon the energy to bake something or make pudding but I really don't enjoy anything else,fortunately dh does.

I like both. Cooking can be just as creative as baking. DH has recently got into making suet pastry for meat pies so I have to do quite a lot of stew-like things for him to put pastry on. I like making biscuits and have recently got a recipe for completely yummy chocolate/pistachio/cranberry bikkies - gorgeous, but not everyday, I wouldn't fit through the door.

Baking--I love the smell of cinnamon and cloves (made a pumpkin pie yesterday) Everyone always looks happy to see baked goods, not so much with lasagna.
