How long does homemade scones stay fresh?

Ds' playschool asked for scones to be delivered on Friday for a cream tea sale on Sunday, am I wrong in thinking they will be stale by then?

Can they keep them frozen until needed? IME scones are almost always best on day of making....

Thought so, the request was homemade (preferred) or store bought!
