Is it feasible to rely solely on an air fryer and not have an oven?

We have a large everhot which is great but with the weather we have been having I don't want to add extra heat into the kitchen. Typically we turn it off between June and September and we have a small fan oven which we use instead. The fan oven is inside a cabinet (we obviously keep the doors open if we are actually using it but close the doors when we are not using it). It was a solution to the heat issue rather than something we designed as part of the kitchen when the kitchen was installed.

The fan oven was a cheap one from B&Q and its now died after 2 years. They still make them but Im a bit reluctant to buy another identical one since it was so short lived. Unfortunately it is a reduced depth oven and Im really struggling to find any other that will fit into the cabinet and allow the doors to close.

I can't just take the doors off the cabinet. Its a floor to ceiling cabinet and the kitchen was expensive.

Has anyone managed without an oven by using one of the large air fryers? We have a very small air fryer that we use occasionally if it's just me and DH at home. We now have an adult child back from uni for a couple of years (and another home during uni holidays) so I'd need to buy a big one like the ninja flexi or the large breville one.

Is it really feasible to have only the air fryer (bearing in mind we don't do that many full roasts during the summer months anyway and come mid september I'll switch on the everhot again).

We’ve been without an oven while our kitchen is being redone and not had any problem coping with an air fryer. The only thing we miss is pizza.

All the cheese flew off when I tried it!

Put th toast in, add the cheese a bit later when the toast is warm, it will "stick" a bit better

My oven isn’t working properly since Easter and I’ve been surviving fine with just my air fryer. But it’s not great if you bake. I think you can bake but when we tried it didn’t work very well.

Not unless you're willing to compromise and don't entertain regularly.

we only use the oven for pizzas, but to be honest you can just cut the pizza up and stick it in the air fryer so in our household it would be totally feasible.

I’d say yes, entirely possible. I can’t actually remember the last time I used the oven.

We have an oil fired aga and switch it off in the summer and it takes a little bit of adjusting but it’s totally fine. Family of 4, 2 adults 2 kids (that eat almost adult portions)

We don’t have another oven. We have a large air fryer that can either be one big drawer or 2 smaller ones. We also have an induction hob and a microwave.

So I wouldn’t make a casserole or similar, or a big roast dinner for lots of people. But I’m not that bothered about them in the summer. Most normal family meals for the 4 of us are fine. Sometimes a bit of adjustment required, but mostly it doesn’t make much difference.

Hosting is more of a challenge and that’s when we would use the BBQ or have to plan the meals more carefully.

Pizzas fit (just) in the air fryer, although can only do one at a time so not ideal for the whole family. Does the job for a quick kids meal though.

My carer has never had a full oven / cooker in his flat. He had a halogen and then a sort of thing like a baby belling and now he uses an air fryer.

But, it has to be said most of what he eats is bought in packets from Iceland.

I have a tiny air fryer and my microwave also can be used like an air fryer but I never have.

If you do want to do a roast then the meat can be cooked in a slow cooker. Does the Ninja have a slow cooker setting? If so to do a roast, cook your meat for a few hours in the SC, then take out, keep warm and cook the potatoes.
