Delicious (smart) lamb stew recipe please...

It's dh's and my dad's birthdays on Wed (dad will be 80) and I'd like a casserole idea using lamb and maybe red wine that I can use in either slow cooker or oven. Dad's new wife is French and mil is the family cooking whizz so I'd really like something rich and sumptuous to impress please - though probably not Moroccan/fruity given the combined age of my dinner guests .

Please help - catering for about 80 on Sat at the party proper so my brain's on food overload!!

okay, this is Greek and DELICIOUS and EASY. it looks good coming out of the oven and yet requires almost no work whatsoever, just great ingredients.

i'm not exaggerating

Perfect! Even has potatoes! I know everyone will eat all those ingredients. Thank you.

i got it from my friend, vitomum, who posts on here. her recipe differs slightly in that rather than putting in some liquid, she puts lemon wedges around the dish. i think one lemon. either way it's fantastic but i do think the lemon just edges it and recommend you give it a try. hope you enjoy it.

It was delicious and incredibly quick to prepare - mil even asked for recipe! Was worried it might have looked a bit plain but everyone enjoyed it. Just made a big green salad and a tomato salad. Many thanks. Califrau, how was your lamb? Have added it to my recipe file for another time. My casseroles are all a bit samey so it's good to add some new things to the list.
