Anyone else worn down by deciding what to make for dinner daily

I honestly think one of the most draining parts of ordinary life is having to come up with dinner every single day forever. Not even the cooking necessarily — the deciding. What everyone will eat, what we’ve already had this week, what’s actually in the fridge, whether I can be bothered, whether there’s time. Please tell me I’m not the only person weirdly worn down by the constant “what’s for dinner?” problem.

Batch cooking used to work well for me, I’d make a meal with 6 adult portions - half would feed DH, me and 2 kids and then half for the freezer.

Now kids are teens and one has the appetite of a wolf (and DH has always eaten a second helping if given the option) so a meal intended for 6 gets finished off! I guess I could start cooking for 12 but 😫

Ugh mealtime planning, OP I feel your pain! I complained so much my DH is working on an app to help me with it. The idea is that it makes it very easy to plan your meals with a load of recipes, or meals you create yourself, or just supermarket products, and then it will find all the ingredients you need in your chosen supermarket and add it all to your basket at the press of a button (have a look at the early website: https://silflay.co.uk ). It’s not finished yet but he’s looking for people to test the early version if anyone would like to help out - you might be able to tell him what you need and get your exact features built! If you’re interested drop him a line at [email protected]

Yes! I have so much other stressful stuff in my life, including a divorce, being separated from one of my children, a demanding job and teenager, but I find meal planning relentlessly draining. And I live overseas now where there is no grocery delivery so have to spend almost 2h on the weekend traipsing around badly arranged supermarkets.

No I don’t. I quite enjoy it.
