and i take falafel balls with yoghurt dip and hummus and crudites.

or pasta salad and fried chicken pieces.

Are you an army wife? I used to get a ready made M&S quiche, bash it about a bit, put it in a china dish, sprinkle fresh herbs on top and wrap in a warm tea towel after heating it up. Naughty!

Cous cous roasted veg salad

some cheese and biscuits with bunch of grapes

avocado and new potato salad with a load of lemon juice sueezed over

puff pastry tomato tarts. Buy puff pastry, cut round a plate, score circle an inch in, place sliced tomatoes in middle, drizzle with olive oil and bake for 20 mins or so (they are YUM)

mozzeralla, onion & tomato salad

plate of cold meats, salmais

potato and sausage salad

in winter, i'll make sloppy joes in the slow cooker the day before.

day off, roll out short crust and cut it to fit muffin or bun tin.

spoon in sloppy jo mix.

top with shredded cheddar cheese.

bake until pastry is golden.

Oh brilliant-you've all just saved me 2 hours trawling through my recipe book cupboard. Many thanks some great ideas,it's a bring the kids village hall summer party thing so loads of things here will be just right. Thanks
