not lierally!!! Have bought a whole duck as a trat and now don't know what I fancy doing with it!! Got a mate coming round on Sun to meet the dcs as she has offerred to come on holiday with us for a week of our fortnight (husband left us in arch so was prepared to go on 'fmily' camping hol in Italy on my own with 2 dc)and I'd like to do a nice dinner. I used to always do duck with chinese pancakes but can't see the dcs liking hoi sin or spring onions! Also they wouldn't touch duck n orange/lemon/plum etc - they don't like fruit with mear but are real carnivores. So... over to you!!! Thank you!

This might suit your purpose.
You could easily chop up your duck to use it but remember to trim off lots of the fat to prevent greasyness and you perhaps could substitute ordinary sausages instead of the chorizo to make it more child friendly.

Or do a garry Rhodes stylee - keep the duck whole. Put a couple of slashes through the skin but not into the meat. Rub in salt / pepper. Bung in oven 180c or so for 30 mins, then drain off fat, pour over a couple of spoonfuls of honey, roast for next 30 mins, baste & drain off excess fat - basically do same for the next hour but at 15 mins intervals - total time approx 2 - 1/2 hours - left with honey roast duck - skin is generally crispy - meat moist and gets devoured in our house!!

oooooh gonna try that! Ds (6)came home with some local honey from Beavers on Wed. Sound fab! CAn't tell dd (5) tho as she is convinced (from ds's re telling of the bee lady's story) that honey is bee poo. Nothing will sway her....
