We went to a lovely Pub yesterday and had the most fabulous food. 4 of us had two courses and one round of drinks and it came to £46.00.

It's name is The Sword In The Hand in Wadesmill, Herts.

Where can you recommend?

For lunch, the Rodel Hotel, Rodel, Isle of Harris (if you are ever in the Outer Hebrides!!)

Bit far for me to pop out for Sunday lunch Susanmt

We like the Coombe Lodge, Croydon. Very smart trendy interior, lovely food and child friendly.

We also like the pub chain which includes the Harrow, Warlingham, Surrey, The Fox, Old Coulsdon, Surrey, the Lamb somewhere near Bexhill-on-sea E Sussex. and the Blue Anchor which is somewhere on the A22 I think . Village Inns I think.

I know Coombe Lodge of old, but is it OK to take toddlers to the other ones you mentioned SoupDragon?

ESSEX

We have two near us.. The Cricketeers Arms Danbury Essex - great meals and atmosphere. We sometimes go there for Sunday lunch. Very reasonable. There is another one - sort of off A127 near Ongar/ Brentwood not sure exact location.. The Greyhound. Great for meals and lovely area for toddlers/kids to play in. Excellent wine selection

Angel Inn Shoeburyness Essex again - have also had lunch there -old pub great feel.. ( pre dd days) not sure if it is toddler friendly

Blimey Eidsvold, the Cricketers, I spent many a drunken night there when young (very young - like 16!!) I used to live in Danbury, and my parents still do
