Stroganoff Receipe for OhyouBadBadKitten

sorry kitten, here it is finally

2oz butter
700g diced beef/stewing steak
2 mediun onions, chopped
450g button mushrooms, roughly sliced
1 big tbsp tomato puree
750ml chicken stock OR water & beef stock cube
250g soured cream or creme fraiche

heat butter and brown beef in batches and set aside

add onions to pot & stir to coat with remaining fat/juices

cook onions for approx 5mins, add mushrooms, tomato puree and meat

stir and then add stock

add half sour cream of creme fraiche and simmer - cover and leave to simmer for 1 & 1/4 hrs - taste and check to see if tender - might need longer

once to your liking season and if looks too liquid turn it up and boil to reduce for a few minutes

just before serving add rest of sour cream/creme fraiche

we love this with either crusty bread or the mushroom flavoured rice packets

btw - this is not what I would call a posh stroganoff but a good family meal one which even my dc get wired into lol
