lentils in casseroles

tatty33 · 11/06/2008 16:25

I want to add lentils to some cassroles I've been making for ds, esp a tasty lamb one.
Trouble is the casseroles seem to need to cook v gently and slowly, and I thought lentils needed to bubble away merrily - can I combine them without cooking 2 separate dishes?

Thanks

Yes. Throw them in. Green lentils will hold their shape and be fine if cooked slowly for a long time. Red lentils go mushy after a while.

You can cook lentils slowly- especially the red ones. They'll thicken up a casserole nicely.
