am not a champagne buff, but DH bought us some champagne when we had DS. We quite like the idea of laying some down a bottle for DS's 18th, but is this a ridiculous idea for a normal bottle of champagne?

does it have to be a really expensive bottle to this?

it's just yellow label veuve clicquot.

cheers if anybody knows, didn't know where else to post this.

lafaik not all champagnes will last that long. If you buy a really good bottle of a vintage then cool. It also has to be kept in certain conditions and I think champagen has to be turned a 1/4 every year or something?????????

My BF works for a vintage wine co so I'll ask her.

thanks - probably means no then - maybe best that we enjoy it now and take a photo of us drinking it for his 18th!
