GF routine - Help

Some help/info please.......
My DD (18 weeks) woke up nicely at 2.10pm very happy. At 2.25pm I gave her her milk, at which point she started crying and turned her head away. She would not take her milk at all, even after calming her down. I played with her for 10mins then tried again with the milk, same story. She kept chewing things. Finally at 3.30pm I have her some very diluted juice which she took about 2oz.
The GF routine doesn't mention what to do if they don't feed at all! So, do I just leave her until after 5.30 and see what happens?

Notes: She has been a bit poorly over the last few days (cough/cold). Not sure if she might be teething. We have been weaning her for just over a week and at 11am she joyfully ate some apple+rice after her milk.

Any ideas/info please?

Gina doesn't work with ill kids! And thats from a true believer. I wouldn't bother with the juice - just leave her milk until the next feed, and give her some milk "in between" if she starts to cry in hunger.

Sueanna as long as you are getting a small amount of fluids I wouldnt worry, as long as it doesnt go on for a long period of time. It sounds like she could be a bit of her milk because of her cold but I am sure she will soon pick back up again. If she is taking her rice nicely maybe you could give her small amount of that at teatime. At 18 weeks she is old enough if you want to increase her solids slightly.

She started crying at 5pm, so I gave her a little bit of apple puree on it's own to bide her over for an hour. She took it (as food is a bit of a novelty for her) but was still whimpering in between each mouthful. I took her mind off whatever was making her uncomfortable, then tried the milk just before 6pm. She took 4 oz then fell asleep, I winded her then she fell sleep again (6.20pm). She had plenty of 'other' wind too!

I'm debating whether to go back to milk until she's back to normal, or continue with the rice (she was fine for the first week on rice).

Thanks for the replies, as a first time mum these 'little' problems can seem very large!! and all the professionals (HV etc) assume you know what you are doing! I'm glad I found this website.

Well, she slept for 45mins until 7ish, then was awake for the next 2 with on and off grizzling. Decided to give her a bottle at 9pm - guzzled 7oz. Off to sleep now (10pm), fingers crossed. Hopefully she'll be back to her normal self tomorrow (all finger and toes crossed!)

Good luck sueanna. What was she like on baby rice and pear? Some babies can react more to apple as it is more acidic. TBH it sounds more like cold misery, but it may be worth sticking to the pear only for a few more days if that was OK, or moving straight to carrot.

Thanks prufrock, haven't tried pear yet, but it's in the freezer, may well give it a go today.
last night she woke at 4am with a coughing fit to the extent that she was almost sick several times (like a reching sort of sound). Took while to get her up this morning, she only had 5oz milk, but seemed fairly happy.
At leasy she doesn't seem hungry, so she probably knows best re:food.
Thanks again for helping me not get too neurotic!
