Gypsy Tart

Does anyone have the recipe for Gypsy Tart like we used to have for school dinners, back in the day?
It was a short-crust pastry case with a brown gooey centre which had a crisp, sugary top crust.
I know it used to have condensed milk in it, that's all I know.
I'd love my kids to try it(a tiny slither, then I would hog the rest when they are not around).

Didn't know it was called that. Just Googled Butterscotch Tart and there it is on The Money Saving Expert.
Yay!
I will be making some tomorrow.
Thanks.

Sorry I lost the thread.
MMMMMMyes I made it.
Put it this way, next time I make it I will make 2. 1 for DC & DH other for me.
The same, maybe better.
I'm drooling again. I wish I had time to make 1 right now.

Don't you call me a Gypsy tart!

RusselBrussel · 13/06/2008 13:09

Which one did you make? The one from NDTH's link?

Goober · 13/06/2008 13:10

I didn't.
Am talking food, no room for name-calling.

But which one

Goober · 14/06/2008 14:29

Yes. Sorry. The one from the link, only I made my own pastry case. And do stop your childish whining, the neighbours will hear you!
