right..might sound like a no brainer BUT..
I've got some casserole beef, pearl barley, parsnips, potatoes, green beans and carrots. Can I turn this into a stew and if so how?

i don't tend to go by quantities, i just try it as i go! first of all season the beef, and coat in a small amount of flour then brown off slightly in a big pan. take out and let rest. Add all vegetables to the same pan, and brown for 1-2 minutes. transfer all vegetables and add beef into a stew dish. Add some stock(500ml), and some red wine(150ml)Add some garlic(if you have any) and some marmite(if you have any) sounds disgusting i now...but really brings out the meaty flavour! place in pre-heated oven at 180 degrees, and allow to cook for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender. season as you go...taste test..and serve with potatoes and a sprinkle of parsley. hope you enjoy it!
