3 cheers for Waitrose.

I am making shelperd's pie for dinner tonight and just went to drain off the fat from the mince. There isn't any. I always buy organic mince when I can and the best quality when I can't, but there is always fat to drain off. I can't believe the difference.

Also, have no tinned tomatoes to put in so currently making stock and have added mushrooms and onions. Will I need more liquid/flavourings?

You could add a little Worcester sauce. Adds a bit of zing.

chocolatespiders · 31/05/2008 16:08

Have put in some garlic and some worcester sauce.

DH would have a fit if I put ketchup in it.

When I made it for the parents of the children I nannied for I used to put baked beans in it. Again, DH would not like that.

Nope. His mother just wasn't as adventurous cook as me. He is getting better though as I love to cook.
