Right: what is the difference between Ocado and Waitrose Deliver?

I am mystified. Waitrose have been courting me lately saying since you haven't used us have free delivery etc.. But since I buy stuff from Ocado regularly I am confused. On the Waitrose website it is all different.

Are they the same? Is one more expensive? What is going on?

AFAIK Waitrose deliver from a local Waitrose store whereas Ocado deliver Waitrose products from a warehouse.

You can't get Ocado if you live too close to a Waitrose store.

The main difference at the moment though would be price.

Ocado have a Tesco price match promise, Waitrose don't.

DO Ocado deliver Waitrose entertaining stuff do you know?

Ocado is a separate company. They have a huge central warehouse, which is stocked with Waitrose produce.

That way, when you order online they know what they have in stock. If you order from Waitrose online (as with Sainsbury/Asda/Tesco etc,) they pick your shopping from what's in store - therefore they only know what's in stock/out of stock at the time of putting together your order.

Therefore you have a much better chance of getting your whole order from Ocado than from any of the store online shopping offers.

No - ocado don't deliver Waitrose entertaining stuff. And there is a Waitrose within a mile but I get ocado delivered.
Price promise or not, ocado is not cheap but it's far easier than dealing with the supermarket. I live in c London though.
