Parkin Receipe

I want to make a Parkin Cake. Does anyone have a good receipe and can someone clarify what oatmeal is? Is it just porridge oats?Thanks

This is my Aunty's recipe...a family favourite.

6oz med oatmeal
3oz self raising flour
1 pinch salt
4oz golden syrup
2oz black treacle
5oz soft marg
3oz brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 small beaten egg
1 dessertspoon milk
weigh syrup & treacle into a saucepan
add marg & sugar, slowly melt over a gentle heat. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Gradually stir into the marg mix, add the egg & milk.
Pour into tin,6inch square tin. bake for 1 1/2 hours, at gas mark 1
cool in tin for 30mins
