Does anyone have a good recipe for cod cakes?

Oh weird, I've started a phantom thread.

I'm looking for a child-friendly cod cake recipe, or any other recipe using cod that is NOT fish pie, which my kids dislike.

TIA.

Four servings (will freeze uncooked)

1/2 lb boiled potatoes
1/2 oz butter
1/2 lb cod fillets
Milk
1 beaten egg
1 tablespoon Chives (if liked)
1 oz fresh breadcrumbs

Poach the cod in enough milk to cover for about 5 minutes, until the fish flakes easily. Mash the potatoes with the butter and add a little of the poaching milk. Flake the fish and add to the potatoes with the chives and the beaten egg. mix well.

Using floured hands, form the mixture into balls the size of a small orange. Flatten slightly then brush with a little beaten egg or milk and coat in the breadcrumbs.

Chill for 30 minutes then shall fry in vegetable oil, turning once, until golden brown. You could alternatively cook them on a greased baking tray for about 25 minutes.
