yes

and yes

MrsBadger · 27/05/2008 12:49

actually not as much crap as I thought

no worse than jelly - at least no sweeteners

KatyMac · 27/05/2008 12:52

That's not bad at all

The alginate is a thickener

Wonder what potassium Chloride does

& carageen is a plant thingie....I think

Hmm - so how bout a natural Angel Delight?

SoupKitchen · 27/05/2008 12:52

is this what you mean

SoupKitchen · 27/05/2008 12:52

snap mrsB i'm just slower

KatyMac · 27/05/2008 12:53

Angel delight is still awful

Sugar, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Modified Starch, Emulsifiers (Propane-1, 2-Diol Esters of Fatty Acids, Soya Lecithin), Gelling Agents (Tetrasodium Diphosphate, Disodium Phosphate), Lactose, Milk Proteins, Flavourings, Colours (Beetroot Red, Annatto, Beta-Carotene), Whey Powder, Anti-Caking Agent (Silicon Dioxide)

But it tastes nice

instead of angel delight make jelly mousse with evaporated milk?

KatyMac · 27/05/2008 13:01

Maybe

I do a great choc mousse - but it has raw eggs in so it's a no-no

Whipping soft cream cheese and liquid jelly together with sugar to taste gives an angel delight type dessert - leave it to set and it's like cheesecake!

KatyMac · 28/05/2008 12:12

Really - do you know what quantities?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 28/05/2008 12:29

the filling from this is good - combination of jelly, cream cheese and evap

KatyMac · 28/05/2008 12:42

That does look nice

Katymac - 1 tub supermarket own brand soft cheese (250g?) and 1 packet of jelly made with half the amount of water. Sorry, it's a kind of 'throw it all in' recipe my mum used to make, so I can't be precise...

KatyMac · 30/05/2008 21:34

I'm going to play with these
