Pavlova - Flan...desert...aghhh! Help pls!

Need to make very easy desert, DH has just sprung guests on me for tomorrow. I see as i do my online shop that supermarket does a 'pavlova base' ... what do i then add to that, is it cream and fruit? [shame] I love cooking but am really no good at the whole baking/desert thing...

Any suggestions appreciated pls. Looking for maybe a fruit flan, pavlova etc.. and must get ingredients this afternoon...panic....fluster...panic.

yeah, fruit and cream. I usually get individual meringue nests and then do a bowl of mixed berries - better a bit later in the year when theres lots of lovely ones not so expensive - and a bowl of thick greek yogurt cos none of us like cream much any more.

sorry for dumb question but single or double cream....idea of yoghurt is nice too, thanks! Am thinking strawberries and kiwis and a few tins of mango/pineapple slices and some grated chocolate?

Double cream for the meringue.

A lovely dessert and most important dead easy is
whip up double cream
add a splash of cointreau
take 2 crunchie bars and smash with rolling pin to make all crumbly and add to cream just before serving
Sprinkle a flake on top.

Very easy and could be added to if you want to jus! up a wee bit...sorry dont have a nmae for it as my brain is mush!!!!

oh pavlova..
my fave is whipped double cream topped with raspberries ... then.. put more raspebrries in a pan with a little sugar.. simmer till they all break up, add a small dash of brandy stir and reduce. then sieve the sauce to get rid of pips and let cool and drizzle over the pavlova just before serving! Yummmy

I wouldn't go too mad on lots of different kinds of fruit - just one would do fine

or strawberries + raspberries would be nice

Wild strawberries are gorgeous in pavlova.
