has anyone got a nice basic fail-safe one? Need to whip one up while the kids sleep this p.m, have got friends coming for an early dinner at kids' bedtime and want to be able to eat pretty much as soon as the babies are settled!

I've got prawns, I've got potatoes. Anything else I can nip out for this morning.

TIA!

Any white fish, some peas and cheese sauce.

Mash the pots with lots of butter and cheese. Add the fish and peas to the cheese sauce. layer in a dish with the pots on top and bake for 30-40 mins (depending on the size).
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yummy !!

Bit of dijon mustard in the cheese sauce, chopped carrots, spinach, and hard boiled eggs, bit of smoked fish too.

One of the few Jamie Oliver recipes that is really tasty.

Yes, I used to follow all the tedious Rick Stein and etc type of recipes ... and then found this simple, failsafe one and it tastes even better IMO!!

Fry up your chopped onions and carrots
Add 1-2tsp mustard (the seeded one)
Add cream - I usually use single
Add spinach

Leave to cook. (let the juice dry a little or mixture will be too soggy). Season to taste

Spread them on baking dish
Then your fish and seafood on top. No need to cook in advance. Just spread them raw.
Then your eggs (cooked) and mash potato.

Bake in oven and enjoy!!
