Hi
Have got various recipes to try using potato, icing sugar, choc and coconut... but does anybody have a recipe using fondant (ie no potato)?
Also, does anybody know how long they last and how do you store them? Wanted to make some for presents?

Hi Bonnie, can't find any other recipes for macaroon bars without using tatties i'm afraid. But (might be being a bit think here) i thought that when you mixed the potato with the icing sugar you were making the fondant? That's certainly the traditional way of making it anyway.

Yes Teuch, fondant is made from tatties double checked with a mate who knows her stuff! Bonnie, would assume it would last about a week? Forgot to ask her that bit and she's gone out on a hot date so better not bother her again tonight!!!

Have just found another recipe NOT using tatties though, def not traditional (cos that's the thing about macaroon bars, people are usually quite surprised when they learn potatoes are an ingredient!). try this? would imagine they might last a bit longer too?
