Ottolenghi - the cookbook. Anyone got this?

This came up on my Amazon page as something I'd like. It's had three great reviews, but I've never seen it or heard of Ottolenghi, which, I gather from the reviews, is a restaurant.

However, I am a sucker for cookbooks - even ones I've never heard of before! Does anyone have this, and, if so, would you recommend it?

It is a fab middle eastern restaurant in London run by a gay israeli owner and a gay palestinian chef.

That sounds great! I'll go to Waterstones at the weekend and have a read of the book before I decide whether or not to buy it.

I love Middle Eastern food.

Ordered it from Amazon a few days ago, the cafe is lovely. If you go to observer.co.uk and search for ottolenghi, you'll find lots of sample recipes as he writes their veggie column.

I didn't realise that was him! I love that column. I'll definitely buy the book now. Thanks

Just received this from Amazon - was going to send it back and exchange as the printing is quite poor quality but apparently it's at least 10 days before they have new copies and 7 weeks with other suppliers so I might hold onto it! Some really lovely recipes - plenty of meat and fish dishes but the largest sections are on vegetables, pulse and grains and baking and patisserie. It's particularly good for vegetable and salad ideas - for example, chargrilled broccoli with chilli and garlic; beans and mange tout with orange and hazelnut. Amazing desserts - the photos are very inspiring. From a quick glance, most of it looks manageable with no ridiculous ingredients that are impossible to get hold of.
