Please dont laugh but can parsnips make you ill if there old and you should not have cooked them??
Im away for the weekend and am cooking a big roast trying to use up as much veg in the house as possible. A few of the parsnips looked dead so in the bin they went but some looked old but okish and ive used them........now im not sure if i should have...

We are great parsnip lovers in this house and have never been ill from them yet.

Old wives' tales about veg making you ill make me laugh. You're a lot more likely to be ill from lack of veg in your diet.

they'll be absolutely fine.

Veg doesn't go off till it looks off, it's mouldy and whiffy and squishy. If they were just a bit old, they'll be absolutely fine.
