what is a potato bake?

Do you mean stuffed jacket potatoes?

micci25 · 23/05/2008 16:27

no its layered potatoes with a creamy or cheesey sauce then baked in the oven for about an hour

I do it with sweet potato and onion as well as white potatoes, and have added sliced carrots before. You cold add a layer or spinach, it would work!

Oh you mean gratin dauphinoise

I suppose cauliflower would work but I'd rather have theveg separate tbh.

Actually I have made one for absolutely ages - thanks for reminding me!

i always put broccolli, and sliced carrots in mine and often leek as well, dc love it
sometimes we add fish or chicken as well, then it really is a complete meal.

Mercy · 23/05/2008 16:48

Yes, leeks is (are?) a good idea.

micci25 · 23/05/2008 16:49

sounds good i hadnt even thought about leek im sure dd's would like that i think i will do it with brocolli, leek, onions and maybe some sliced parsnips as well as the potatos? and bacon or something on the top
