American sloppy joes!! Dp asked for homemade bugers but I couldn't be arsed really and his american auntie had left a recipe for these so because they are in a buger bun I thought we would try them.
This has got to be one of the most simple recipies ever..

Nice beef mince 1lb
1 onion
small tin of tomato puree
2 tablespoons of american mustard
pinch of salt and pepper

Cook the beef and onions through
drain the oil off
add everything else
heat through
serve on toasted buger buns with a bit of grated cheese.

we had them with corn on the cob and me, dp, ds and our lodger ate the lot.

good if you really can't be bothered one night and quite cheap aswell.

Perfect for tomorrows dinner. Thanks!

Yummymum1 · 22/05/2008 20:47

Do you shape them into burgers or just pile it onto the bun?

bogie · 22/05/2008 20:48

Just pile it on, its not as sloppy as I thought it would be.

Wow, memories of my American childhood. I forgot all about them and I'm sure my lot would love them. Thanks for the idea!

Sounds brilliant. Doing it tomorrow night. (What's the betting that half the country are going to be having sloppy joes tomorrow night?!)

That sounds nice and easy.

I love sloppy joes!! They are extra yummy (and sloppy) if you use a tin of tomato soup instead of tomato puree.

We'll be having them tomorrow as well!
