Dd2, 10mths has recently had a cough and sore throat, still has it a little.

She has now stopped eating. she is much brighter and better in herself, but I think she now won't eat because before it hurt to swallow.

Anyone got any tips, only drunk about 5ozs today. She only weighs 14lbs so not much to play with.

nice soft stuff like yoghurt / fromage frais?
mash potato?

She might just need a few days to get her appetite back.

also cold food might be soothing on her throat so grapes from fridge; ice lollies made from fruit puree / milk

She has been surviving on milk and fromage frais for the last 3 days and today has refused all but a teeny bit of milk. Problem is throat and cough are viral as she has had them about 8wks now and two courses of anti biotics.

I am starting to feel a bit weary now, she must be too !!!

will try the ice lollies. She is just really hesitant now to put thing in her mouth.

I am assuming thats the reason and that she hasn't just gone off food

Perhaps a bit of calpol about an hour before eating? that might take the edge off any pain she's feeling so she's more likely to eat something.

lulalullabye · 22/05/2008 18:43

Thats a plan with the calpol maybe.

lulalullabye · 23/05/2008 21:59
