Simple decorating ideas for a christening cake

DD2 is being christened next week and I'm going to do her a cake. Although my cakes taste good I've never decorated one before. Any ideas for a simple decoration appropriate for the occasion?

The starburst ones are nice! And very easy, you can buy them ready made and paint

On my DD's cake we had a hand cut out of icing with some cut out drops of water beneath it.

why?

For DD2's christening I just bought ready made marzipan, and ready made icing, rolled them out over the cake and then put a little bunch of flowers on top.

I used some squeezy-tube icing and just wrote her two christian names in script writing across the write-iced cake

It looked good!
