what would you serve with rye bread or soda bread ?

rye bread; probably goats cheese
soda bread, either smoked salmon or butter + honey

more kiddie friendly stuff ? yum to honey on soda bread

perhaps a BLT on rye?

Soda bread - if white - raspberry jam with salted btter, if brown smoked salmon with lots of lemon juice.
Rye Bread - Pastrami and cream cheese or smoked salmon.

would cheese go with rye bread - I think it'd be nice with soda bread - the children need something easy and straightforward and we can't afford to do smoked salmon for 200 + kids !!

yes cheese goes with soad bread. Soda bread is much nicer toasted and warm, so bear this in mind.

Could you just have a variety of toppings that the kids choose from? Or just butter on them all?

I meant cheese will be nice on rye bread too.

yes, there will be different things to add, it's just that I'm designing a menu for them to keep and wanted to add 'serving suggestions' !

Hi MAS. Yum I'd probably put cream cheese on rye bread, possibly with some grapes? Maybe pate? Soda bread is harder... We tend to have it with soup or just butter and jam or marmalade.

thanks hotcross ...mmm,cream cheese- I'd put nutella on everything but prob. not very healthy ( is a healthy lunch box thing after all !)
