help quick! gammon joint

needs to go into oven in next twenty min, cause of guests. should i just bung it in the oven or is there anything else i can do with it? i have cloves, honey, some other bits and bobs. or should i just cook it and not overcomplicate things?? tia

I usually score the fat and pour Honey onto it and down the sides of the joint.
Works well if you have roasting bags.

Cover with foil to start with.

Remove the foil for the last half an hour. Take the fat off, and smear the top of the joint with honey. You can mix the honey with brown sugar first if you like but you don't need to.

You can cut the fat and dot it with cloves if you really want to but it's a real faff.
