ICE CREAM question

am making an ice cream cake pudding where you fill sponge lined loaf tin with ice cream and freeze - I'd need to take ice cream from freezer to soften for a bit in order to scoop into cake mould and then stick back in freezer...silly question probably, but is that ok ? it's not melted just softened so it's not strictly re freezing, no ?

No that fine. Atmost the ice cream will only be out of the freezer for 20mins so it should be fine.
