Quick question before I cook - chicken left out of fridge all day - eat or bin?

DH got some chicken out of the freezer late last night, and for some reason put it in the (cold) oven to keep it off the worktop. We both forgot about it this morning so it got left in there all day instead of being put in the fridge. So it's now about 21 hours since it came out of the freezer, and it hasn't been in the fridge at all. Safe to eat? Or should I bin it?

Cooked or raw?

If cooked, I would bin it.

If raw, I would check for off smell. If ok, then cook it.

At least if it was in the closed oven then you know no flies have been near it.

DH would say bin it.

I would say smell it and taste it and use your own judgement.

On a hot day like today though, it could be dodgy!

Coolmama · 13/05/2008 18:53

cook it thoroughly and then enjoy!
