10 month old will only drink cows milk!

Up until 2 weeks ago my 10 mo dd was drinking 4, 7oz bottles of follow on milk a day. Then she got poorly for a few days and was only drinking water and diluted oj, since then she refuses to drink any formula, but because I was worried about her not having any milk I gave her some cows milk.

Now she's having 3 bottles of cows milk a day, along with a varied solid diet. I know they say cows milk shouldn't be given as a drink till 12 months but will it really be a problem? The other alternative seems to be no milk at all.

Mine all had cows milk from about 11 months onwards. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

give milk, I don't think there is a problem with it. more important to give some milk than no milk. If she's not having problems digesting then do what works. Good luck.

My (good!) hv said when she stopped bfing her 3 at around 11 mths, they went straight on to cows milk. I think so long as lo is eating ok and hasn't had a bad reaction to cows milk, it is fine.

BTW, my ds drinks more cows milk than he ever drank cows!

My ds2 is bf but with ocassional bottles since about 9months and I started giving him cow's milk instead of formula at about 10 months. Also know quite a few other people who have.

I think formula is better until 12 months as it has added vits etc but if it cow's or nothing then I would think it should be fine.

(that should read formula!

PMSL Nicky, did he drink many cows then?!

Lol, thanks ladies, that's put my mind at rest. Will carry on with the cows milk then, and keep an eye on her cow intake too
