Is there anything I could 'cook' with toddler that doesn't involve cooking?

E.g. something very simple that doesn't involve him going near hot stove (our kitchen is very small and he wants to touch everything!). Was thinking something along the lines of chocolate cornflakes, etc but they involve heating the chocolate first don't they?

Ice plain biscuits and sprinkle with chocolate. Yum and then you can scrape the bowl

How about flapjacks, they don't need to go in the oven til the end I think?

Or anything else that just needs baking at the end -- muffins, cake...

Fruit salad?

Peel the fruit then let them chop with a kids knife?

Or just explain the rules you will make fairy cakes but mummy will put them in the oven (& take them out) & if there is any arguing you won't do it

Ooh, lots of good ideas - thank you! Have tried cooking while he's in the kitchen and it turns into a bit of a battle so easier and less stressful to do something easy and tackle the kitchen and not touching hot things when he understands a little bit more!

Coconut ice
Peppermint creams
Eton mess (buy ready made meringues)

Well, we decided to make fairy cakes and also decorated some biscuits with icing and chocolate buttons while we were waiting for the cakes to cook. DS loved it, although did seem to eat more than he was making and then went a bit hyper - think he had a bit of a sugar rush!
