Help me please!

Never baked a cake before and is shortly ds 1st birthday, i think i would like to make something like a victoria sponge cake that i could then stick his photo on top of (printed onto edible paper) am i right in thinking you use apricot jam to stick the photo on the top?

Any easy recipes for cake gratefully received

i have bought a 10" square tin with a removable base - but my mil has informed me that those types are for fruit cakes - is this true? If so what should i get instead?

would also like to make some smaller fairy cakes for party bags - could i use the same recipe for both?

here's a victoria sponge recipe, for the filling just use seedless if you can raspberry jam and you could do Butter icing as well.

Yes a sponge is normally round and you do it in two round tins so you can sandwich together. You could use your square one but probably will have to cook it slightly longer so may need to cover it with greseproof paper half way through to stop the top burning then when it's cooled, slice it through so you have 2 thinner ones.

Good Luck
