FOr a joint of ham I always go for a smoked gammon joint with no fat running through (I pay about £4.20 for 500g). If you get one that is too fatty it is mank.

I boil it in coke for around 1 - 1 1/2 and then roast in oven for 20-30 mins with honey smeared on top.

Not sure about the beef.

You need a gammon. Salted or unsalted. Cook for 20mins per lb + 20 mins I think. I usually boil ours in cider and various veg and herbs. Got the recipe from a mner. Then roast in a glaze for 10 mins to finish and crisp.

Don't know about beef.

yep.

Sounds weird but very good. Kinda sweet, bbq-y flavour.

Or you could use water with vinegar in.

I use full fat not diet as the stuff has got enough crap in without adding more (sweetners instead of sugar).
