Freezer - silly question but at what point is it defrosted?

Dozy DH unplugged the freezer around 7pm last night and I didn't realise until 9am today. Plugged it back in straight away after shutting the door really quickly, and the temperature read -3.

Dozy me doesn't know whether that means everything is ok, still frozen, and safe to eat (we're vegetarian so nothing truly food poison-worthy, I don't think). I'm assuming because it didn't go above 0 degrees it's still technically frozen? Duh

I think you can normally tell if stuff has started to defrost as it goes frosty inside. Most new freezers are great at keeping it cold. It does sound like quite a long time tho.

I think it will be fine

boobiestoosaggy · 23/04/2008 20:53

thats happened to me before dc left the door ajar after helping them selves to a lolly. it was open all night like yours was .i just shut the door and all the food was fine to eat and no one got ill from it

can't help with the freezer but i have a question about the i'coo platon 3. is it easy to push one handed or is it quite difficult to control. i have a different 3 wheeler atm which is easy to push with 2 hands but when i try with one hand it veers all over the place if the wheel isn't locked. what's the platon 3 like cos i was thinking of selling mine to fund one of these.

oysterpots · 24/04/2008 08:07

Ah well the Platon 3 is a tilt wheel so if you want to push one-handed it's a dream - would go straight forever! I pushed a friend's P&T the other day and couldn't believe how much you have to keep righting it, IYSWIM.

It's more work turning corners - sort of have to push down on handlebar to raise front wheel and turn it that way. Or if you're running with it then you can veer in a different direction and it's really good for that.

You interested?

does it have a swivel front wheel?

oysterpots · 24/04/2008 09:29

No, it's a tilt wheel so it's somewhere between a fixed and a swivel.

oysterpots · 24/04/2008 10:17

Yes, reversible seat, fleecy cosytoes, instructions, pump, raincover, little window in hood which can pull right down and be used as raincover if you've forgotten it

I need £75 for it. Pictures on their way.
