My kids adore M and S cookies.. the huge chocolate chip type ones with about a zillion calories and scary amounts of sugar. Does anyone have a recipe for cookies that aren't crunchy but more like the shop cookies in consistency please?

these banana fudge cookies are pretty chewy, and entirely delicious Plus the recipe makes tons of them.

Banana look OK but I need triple choc...Ta

Thanks cyteen.. they look promising.. do you think it will work if I swap the banana for chocolate..?

Funnily enough, they come out tasting mainly of chocolate - I think the banana just gives them a fudgey consistency.

I'll be lurking around as well though...definitely interested in any proper chocolate chewy cookie recipes, all the ones I've got turn out quite crunchy.

Baking is so wrong and yet so right

these are divine are very easy!
If you want choc cookies, use less flour and equivalent amount cocoa powder instead.

1oog marge/soft butter
100f light muscovado sugar
1 tsp golden syrup
150g self raising flour
choc chips or smarties or cherries or whatever

Oven 180deg C. Beat sugar and butter together, beat in syrup. work in half flour. Stri in choc chips or whatever. Add remaining flour and work dough with fingers. Dividie into balls (around 14) do not flatten.
Place well apart on 2 sheets. Bake 12 mins

Oops, sorry robinpud, x-posted there. No idea if that would work so I'd say just give it a go, maybe with half the measures at first in case it turns out bad - that way at least you won't have wasted loads of ingredients. They are very chocolatey tasting though, and not really banana-like at all.

Let me know if you do adjust the recipe successfully! Mmmm, chocolate.

Robinpud, yed it is [seriously impressed someone can tell where a recipe os from!]

They are so easy, I have just made some even more since posting the recipe

FMF- that is truely a divine recipe and it was the only thing I could cook in Aus last year where marge is no good for cooking and it HAD to be butter. Cakes didn't rise so it was biscuits all the way. They were always my offering at bbqs and went down very well. I think I will make a batch, bigger than normal and not cook for very long so they are gooooeeey.
