I'd just take your inspiration from the picture. Jelly babies, Bertie Bassetts, buscuits maybe. The more colour the better, I think. Just makeup a small amount of butter icing to stick everything on with.

Lovely cake tin, btw!

Right lets try that again, making more sense this time. I mean biscuits, not buscuits, and I mean jelly tots not babies! Are you going to do a track too?

poshwellies · 16/04/2008 11:59

Wow...good luck!

They do the small tubes of coloured icing in most supermarkets, little squeezy tubes-may help with application.

Jelly tots, little silver balls,smarties..list is endless.

Get your creative head on

Chocolate fingers for funnels.

Put the age on carriages.

Just do a butter icing to cover.

wannaBe · 16/04/2008 12:05

lol haven't decided whether I'll do a track yet.

I also fancy buying

this one
but will see how I get on with the train first.

am running the cake stall at the school fate this year so these would be ideal.

Like them too! Very sweet! For the boys you might like to have a go at the cupcakes on my profile. Dead easy and gruelsome looking!

My friend fancied doing this for her little boy's birthday but couldn't afford the tin - so she constructed one herself out of choc-covered swiss roll, using flakes on top of the roll to make the sides of the carriages and filled them with sweets - it looked so fab!

< at the garden gang cake tin - I have been eyeing that up, and their eclair tin too!>
