Mushrooms

For DH and my dinner tonight I am doing jacket potatoes, lovely and crispy in the oven. I have just seen some mushrooms in the fridge and I would like to do a topping using those. I have quite a few bits in so looking for some ideas. TIA.

Sautee the mushrooms gently in some butter and crushed garlic, with plenty of salt and black pepper, and then drizzle some single cream in once cooked. Turn off the heat at this point so the cream doesn't split. Really yummy!

Make sure the mushrooms are cooked for long enough that they turn a golden brown colour and are not just slimy and warm.

Or just chop and fry them up, golden brown as OMDB says, then combine with an equal amount of grated cheddar - very nice on potatoes (also great on toast).

Oo yum yum. They all sound fab!

Would it be awful to have OMDB and snowleopard's suggestion together??

Thank you.

I've added grated cheese on top of my recipe before, then bunged it under the grill till the cheese is bubbling

Ended up with just cheese and beans!

A friend rang and DH was too hungry to wait.

Never mind, will definitely do the mushroom thing next time.

Thanks.

fried mushrooms are great with garlic and a tiny bit of soysauce (really) and a few chopped chives. on toast. yum.
