how totally fabulous - I feel like a Desperate Housewife just being on Mnet!!

Carmenere · 11/04/2008 14:45

Ohhhhhhh and a bit or should I be flattered. The first part(aduki beans ect) of that was tongue in cheek FFS. I think it is really a bit lazy to use our whole lunchbox newsletter as the source for a whole article.

hifi · 11/04/2008 14:45

the pressure is now on to replace the cheese triangle sandwich.

"Don't forget that what you pack is open to scrutiny - not just by other kids but by other mums. So if your child is going to a friend's house after school, make sure that's not the day you give in to Fruit Shoots and Gregg's sausage rolls.

"Stick a few stray aduki beans/ arugula [rocket] leaves/seaweed sachets in the lunch box. Your child might be a tad confused but your position as Alpha Mother will be assured."

Who said that it's so funny, can't believe thay quoted it seriously!!

hifi · 11/04/2008 14:46

i think it has been taken a bit too literally, makes us sound like tossers.

OP posts:
OverMyDeadBody · 11/04/2008 14:48

lol that they quoted that as serious! If they didn't get the tongue in cheek there then they just don't get mumsnet and shouldn't be using it to write articles.

CatIsSleepy · 11/04/2008 14:49

agree carmenere v. lazy
the writer don't really seem to understand that some of it isn't entirely serious
daft bugger

southeastastra · 11/04/2008 14:50

what happened to the 'get a grip' comment.

CatIsSleepy · 11/04/2008 14:51

'Food-savvy parents are advised to feed their offspring aduki beans and "seaweed sachets".'
er no that was a joke

hifi · 11/04/2008 14:52

the scary thing is will some people take it seriously and try to emulate?

OP posts:
CatIsSleepy · 11/04/2008 14:53

and is MN really a social networking site?

CatIsSleepy · 11/04/2008 14:54

well if they do try to emulate then they're daft buggers as well

Carmenere · 11/04/2008 15:01

It was Willow who is credited with the scrutiny quote on the original newsletter

LittleBella · 11/04/2008 16:47

LOL at how thick that journalist is.

Obviously doesn't understand irony.

willow · 18/04/2008 22:07

erm yes, it was me, said totally in jest. Some people are a tad dim, aren't they?
