OverMyDeadBody · 07/04/2008 17:38

It brings out the flavour of food, it's all about getitng the balance right, enough to enhance the flavour without making it taste salty iyswim.

OMG YES

Twiglett · 07/04/2008 17:38

if you can't tell the difference SEA I'd hazard a guess that you eat too much salt in other parts of your diet .. I can really tell the difference

I kinda agree with Twiglett

If you can't tell the difference I'm afraid we have to take your Foodie Pass back

SaintGeorge · 07/04/2008 17:41

Must admit Twig, a couple of years ago I would have agreed. Wanted to cut salt for health reasons and spuds for mashing was the last thing I eventually cut it from. Took a loooonnnnnng time to get used to but now I honestly don't miss it.

DH cooked recently, salted the spuds, whole lot went in the bin because none of us could eat it. Total salt overload bleurgggghhhhh

LadyOfWaffle · 07/04/2008 17:44

I can't taste the difference.

LadyOfWaffle · 07/04/2008 17:45

OOoh Saint George is back!

DJCod · 07/04/2008 17:46

SaintGeorge · 07/04/2008 17:47

Back, but saltless .

southeastastra · 07/04/2008 17:47

i have no taste buds anyway.

JackieNo · 07/04/2008 18:15

Oh yes, years ago I went through a phase of having Ryvita, with lots of unsalted butter (that's what the dimpled side is for, isn't it?), then a grind of salt on the top.
